What is Microblading?
Microblading is a semi permanent, superficial solution to sparse, over plucked, over waxed and thinning eyebrows. It is ideal to covers scars, gaps, define shape, create an arch and to fill in the brows. Microblading is a manual method of depositing a small amount of pigment in the outer layer of the skin without reaching the dermis.
Does it hurt?
The feeling of Microblading is usually described as annoying or uncomfortable. It is also compared to an intense tweezing session. The artist will apply numbing gel after the "first pass" of strokes. After the gel is applied, little to no feeling is noticeable. Towards the end of the session, the eyebrow area feels tender.
How long will Microblading last?
Microblading typically lasts one to three years depending on skin type, sun exposure and lifestyle. This is different for every person. Those with more oily skin types will likely have pigments fade quicker than others and require more frequent touch ups. A touch up is recommended every six months to a year to keep brows looking fresh and beautiful.
How long does a session take?
The first session typically takes two to three hours. The second session, performed 5-6 weeks after the first session, typically lasts one to two hours.
What is the healing process?
The healing process takes 28-30 days. During this time your new brows will go through many stages of healing. After the first session 30-50% of the pigment may fade, 10-15% of the strokes may disappear, and the brow typically shrinks in size approximately 15-20%. This is normal and why the second session is necessary. During that session, more pigment is implanted to perfect the brows. Certain factors attribute to the final result that are out of the artists control such as skin type, texture, quality, lifestyle (sun exposure, tanning, product used, antibiotics taken) and aftercare.
A technique which manually creates semi permanent hair strokes to give the most natural look to the eyebrow. $300 for the first session/$100 for 6 week touch up session.
Microblading and Shading -
Shading is a technique that can be combined with hair strokes by manually creating hundreds of tiny dots that implant pigment creating the look of a fuller more dense brow. This is a good option for clients who fill in their brows on a daily basis or those with little to no eyebrow hair. $350 for the first session/$100 for 6 week touch up session.
Ombre/Powder Brows -
This technique involves manually creating hundreds of tiny dots throughout the eyebrow creating a soft powder look similar to daily makeup done with an eyebrow pencil or shadow. The tails of the brows are given a darker more dense application of pigment while fading lighter towards the base of the brow. This technique is good for those with oily skin. $300 for the first session/$100 for 6 week touch up session.
